Texas Wheel

I have to tell you what this is because there are not enough visual clues to help one decipher it, and what there is present is likely confusing. It is an old railroad wheel that was cast in Marshall, Texas. There is some kind of colorful algae growing on the metal surface. The wheel appears to have been in this location for some years. If I had photographed the entire wheel, I dare say that all or most could correctly identify it. But focusing on just a portion that has colors and details that one would not expect adds mystery.
